Default Letter from Employer?

Hi All!
Ok, the Affadavit of Support (Form I-134) needs to be filled out and
notarized...so it seems. Do I ALSO need a letter from my employer
verifying my status as an employee and verification of my salary? It
looks like the form covers the financial end, but I don't see where
the employer signs. Any idea what a letter from an employer should
look like?
I'm going to have a lot of questions about Package 3 to come...please
be patient

Hi Clare. Yes, have the I-134 notarized. I typed up a letter on Company letterhead stating my date of employment, position, annual salary and had my manager sign it. Also, I had the letter notarized. I can't remember, at the moment, if the letter from employer HAD to be notarized, but I know I felt better having it done, hehe.

Hi, Clare!!!!

We didn't have Corey's letter notorized, and BCIS didn't have a problem with it. His manager just wrote on company letterhead what his salary a week was, how long he'd been there, and that he was permanent. He also added a little bit afterwards that said his chances of continued employment are excellent.

Are these the only things you needed for the the I-134? Steve is having the form notorized today and did the same as Anna with the letter but reading the actually intructions it makes it sound like you need bank evidence too (when account opened etc). Not sure if this is required for the interview though??

Hi, Nicola!

I think it depends on your situation. If Steve's salary covers the requirements, you won't need to include any assets or bank accounts. Corey didn't have any of those, and his salary covers the minimum, so BCIS just told us to write "0" where it asks for extras.

Hi Nicola Kate's right. However, I did have my bank type up a letter on Company letterhead, showing my date of account opening and account balance, just to have as supporting evidence for the I-134. I make well over the 125% poverty guideline, but I just wanted my peace of mind, hehe. My fiance probably won't need any of it, but it just makes me feel better!

Hi thanks to you both!

Steve makes well over the poverty line too so we may be ok not to do that then! I'm actually in the States right now but go home Sunday and packet 3 is waiting for me, (Yipppee!!), so I was hoping to take everything back with me. Steve can always forward a bank letter on to me though.

Thanks again!

Nicola

Great news! Makes going back a little better, eh? Shouldn't have to wait too much longer, now

Definately makes it easier! I should hopefully only be home around 6 weeks before I move for good!

Great News! My Steven is also here visiting.. packet 3 should be in
Canada by the time he goes home (I hope). He's staying the 89 days on
his I-94, so I'd also like to get most of the paperwork together that
he can take with him.
Thank you for all of your input. I'm going to get a letter from H.R.
and my bank even though I'm over the 125% poverty level too.
Does it usually take about a month to get the packet 3 to the fiance?
Since we're going thru Vermont, it looks like they cable it to the
consulate in Canada...so a month should be a good guess..Right?
