But you aren't as good at distracting attention away from the implied question,
which you utterly were anable to answer.

Why have any Americans been employed at all over the past century if there were
foreign workers somewhere willing to work for far less?

All throughout the history of America, you could have located foreign workers
willing to work for much much less than their American counterparts, yet, America
has thrived. Why should we think that something has not happened over all that time
is going to suddenly happen now, when the situation (cheap foreign labor) is
unchanged?

But, unlike assembly of widgets, you can't predict ahead of time (while making the
stay / move decision) nor can you adjust, nor can you replace quitting personnel. The
10 to 1 is true whether it's between Palo Alto and Bombay or between Palo Alto and
Kansas City...

Hasn't the Mythical Man Month taught you anything? software depends on people skills
much more than it depends on pure technical skills. To a great extent it's like
medicine, where you have to listen and understand what the other guy is telling you,
not simply code your way to the moon.

Perhaps when (or if) you stay in the same job for more than a year and develop a
sixth sense of ultra-efficient communication with your also longtime coworkers, then
you'll understand.

In the short time that he has been here so far, he has demonstrated a greater
understanding of it than you did in your entire online career so far, by
several orders of magnitude. But then, that is like noting that the sun is
larger than a mite.

Sorry Jacobshill, I have a degree in Business Econ. Furthermore, you are just a
shill-- trying to get a rise out people just for the sake of doing so.

Carlos,

For every IT job opening, there are hundreds if not thousands of resumes (mostly from
Indians) whose rates are insanely low (try $25 per hour). In addition, these H1
applicants get free housing, free rental cars, plane tickets, food, etc. Most of us
have rental obligations, mortgages, car payments, kids, etc and are unable to lower
our rate to that level. Some recruiters (not all) will bill a foreign tech worker at
$25 to $30 per hour and bill the client $100 per hour. Therefore, it is more
profitable for the recruiters to go with the foreign IT worker (even if he/she is
totally inexperienced and clueless). The recruiter figures that in a few months, the
foreign worker will be up to speed. Of course this is not the best thing for the
client company but they don't know what is happening.

Have you witnessed how recruiters are pushing Indian tech workers? They aren't doing
it because they are the most qualified for the job. They are doing it because they
represent the biggest profit margin. They are pushing them like they have 8 years of
Java "experience" when it hasn't been around for that long. 5 years of XML
"experience" when this is a total lie.

You are a young kid Carlos and thus ignorant and naive. When you get some years under
your belt, you will see how corporate American operates. And it is NOT according to
textbook micro-economic theory.

Perhaps ego. When I was going to the university to get my engineeering degree, I
thought my future was unlimited. In my mind, if I got through those tough courses,
and did my best as an engineer, I would be on the career ladder until I retired.
It's very tough to accept the reality that I have joined the working class poor.
My government has decided to force me out of the engineer market, and I must
accept that.

My ego is shrinking in direct proportion to my savings account. I am rethinking what
I have to do to live. I can bitch at you or the government all I want but that won't
change the fact that I must accept a lower standard of living. Almost all IT people
in the US agree with you so I'm beating my head on the wall.

I am pissed off about his so expect me to keep flaming you and other shills until I
can no longer afford my electricity and ISP bills.

Jacobson pretends to understand beer, but I went completely over his head. He thought
Corona was the best beer because it came from a country that was near where he bought
his wife. JJ, wife slaves don't necessarily brew the best beer.

have earned it. You, Carlos, are not worthy.

Look you arrogant ****ing jerk. Very few people have ever earned $40 an hour and you
will never get there at the rate you are going. If you ever approach that salary,
please let me know where you work. I will inform management that they have been
ripped off.

Don't bullshit me and claim you earn more. The world must have more justice
than that!
