Default L1 visa help.

I worked for a tourism company in the UK for 4 years, my employment ended in November 2006, i now have the opportunity to work for another branch of that company in the US. I also have a Bachelors Degree in that field, what are my chances of obtaining an L1 visa and how easy does an immigration lawyer make the process?

Employees who are being transferred from a foreign subsidiary, branch, affiliate or parent of a U.S. company:

who are in a specialized knowledge capacity or an executive or managerial position and have been employed for at least one continuous year during the past three years, with the foreign subsidiary, branch, affiliate or parent of the U.S. company applying for them.

It seems you would fail on the continuous employment ..

Your company would have to apply ..not you ...
In most cases they would use a Lawyer ... to ensure the application
is sound....

Yes - I think he should be ok too.

As for what to do, that would be 'nothing'. An L-1 petition is handled
entirely by the sponsoring company. My only involvement with my L-1 was
showing up at the US consulate for the visa stamp.

It sounds likely that the US branch of the company will be able to get
an L-1 for you. They'd probably be wise to use an attorney unless
they've got L-1 application experience or a competent person in HR
with plenty of time available.
