L1 to TN visa?
Hi,
I'm Canadian citizen currently working in US on L1-B visa. There is
another company that's interested in hiring me. Is the following
scenario possible:
Can I go to the border and apply for TN visa without giving up my L1
visa at least until I'm sure that I will get the TN? I'm asking this
to make sure that I don't give up my L1 status and get rejected a TN
visa (though rarely, this is in fact possible, I know Canadians who
have not been given TN).
Also, if I get a TN eventually and apply for H1-B in half an year,
does the time I spent in US on L1 count against the H1-B visa
validity?
Thanks in advance.

Guys,
Can't really no one shed some light on this. It is very important to
me. Please share your experience.

Your L-1 visa should still be valid but it really depends on the reason for
the TN denial.

Yes. The combined L1/H1 clock is only reset after spending 1 year outside
the US.
