Question L1 - time for issue and then travel?

Hi,
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't find the info anywhere.
My family have our interviews booked at the embassy in London for L1 & L2 visas (no NIE or anything involved).
Assuming our visas are approved, how long does it typically take to get the actual visa - i.e. how long after the interview can you expect to travel?
Also, do you have to travel within a certain time of getting the visa?
Thanks in advance!

Usually pre-COVID it was about 1 week, I think I've seen this is still around the same. (the delay is getting an appointment, not in the passport being returned).

No you can wait as long as you like, in fact when you come to expiry time you can recapture unused time on you L1 and add that to you stay so the time it's approved for is only time you are actually in the USA.

Thanks postbox134 that's really helpful to know. I'm glad there's flexibility on travel date, that makes planning a lot easier and less risky!

Itwillrain our appointment is in December. Best of luck!
