Default L1 to H1b

My wife has spent 4 years on an L1A. If a different company sponsored her for a H1B do those 4 years count as the first 4 of a H1B, leaving her with 2/3 years maximum on a H1B?

Thanks

Thanks for the response.
One further related question -
I have been on an L2 for 4 years – Prior to that I held an H1B for 3 years. If a company wants to sponsor me do I still have the remaining 3-4 years of an H1B available?
Thanks again

Yes, you do. Time in L2 does not get counted, as per a recent post from one of the immigration attorneys that posts here. See the last post in this thread: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=635891
