One of our members is currently an executive overseas. His company wants to set up a
representative office in the US. Can anyone give a recommendation about whether L
visa or E visa is more appropirate. Any web sites? The consulate in his country
answers ambiguously.
Thanks in advance,
Bob

This is not a question for a consulate. This is a question for a good immigration
lawyer. On the surface it sounds as if L would be the appropriate status. However,
maybe the executive wishes to start his own business in the U.S., which would have a
business relationship with the company rather than an ownership arrangement. You
never know.
