J1 Trainnee visa
Hey,
I am currently looking into the possiblity of gaining a J1 visa (12-18 month) if I can find a suitable trainee program/internship. I was wondering if anyone has any good tips/advice on this as the websites I go on tend to just throw me off. LA is where I want to go and I am currently studying accounting in university which I will finish in May
please before ppl suggest that LA is too expensive etc I have a aunt there so accomandation is no problem or if anyone has any other ideas of how to gain a visa which would enable my to work there for a while I would be interested in that to basically I just wanna swap UK for LA for a while maybe year or 2 because I love it there
thanks

I'd recommend going through the American Immigration Law Foundation. More info I've written on the topic here: http://www.strongvisa.com/pages/j-1.php. AILF would do all the paperwork for you.

Perhaps ask your uni? They might have exchange programs and person running that might know of places as well.
