hi all I am considering the j1 internship visa for a year in the states but was concerned reading that possibly that this visa requires a stay at home in the uk for two years upon your return.Is this the case? or does the two year requirement not apply to j1 internship visas?
Also how easy or rather how probable would it be to adjust my status if I ended up getting married while I was in the us on the internship and what if any problems might this cause? Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yes... or no. There's no way to know in advance if you will be subject to the 2-year HRR.


Entering the US on a non-immigrant visa with the intent to stay and adjust status is illegal. Since you've already thought of it, you can't now deny the fact that it never before occurred to you.
