And they say the boycott is not working.

Boycott Intel, Boycott Federal Express Boycott Companies that hire Foreign National
in large numbers.

Intel did not rescind job offers. They offered students money not to take the jobs.
The students could accept the money, or the job. They had a choice.

Intel is still expanding their workforce in nations like India, while continuing to
cut back on domestic jobs.

It doesn't seem like whatever boycott you're speaking of is working at all.

In fact, the boycott is news to me and some of my friends who were actually laid off
from Dell.

Did you read the article you provided the link for? Here's a quote from it: " In the
first quarter, Dell became the largest PC company in the world for the first time. "

You might also be interested to know that I just ordered a new Dell.

It is not splitting hairs to differentiate between a job offer being rescinded and a
job offer still existing but with an incentive added to not take it.

The article said that "Some" of them were being offered a payoff to decline the
offer. What incentive would Dell have for that? They wouldn't have to pay
Unemployment and their figures on laying off people would be lower. The article did
not say that they were paying off everyone, just some of the people. It also did not
say that if they did not decline the offer that would be employed, it was clear from
the article that the jobs are not going to exist. This is in no way evidence of a
boycott working, first there is no boycott, not a noticeable one anyway, second
Dell's sales figures are up not down, it could very well be attributable to them
"purchasing" market share. Either way the people who make the decisions on what to do
about Dell's workforce are not doing any of this because they are feeling the crunch
of an imaginary boycott.

You are confused, in that the payoff to decline an offer was from Intel to their
applicants. As far as I can tell, Dell was simply saying, "Sorry we don't want
you. Goodbye."
