Interview stuff........
Ok, my mind's still reeling from the shock of our very recent approval, and now I'm convinced that London are going to spring a surprise on me too with a quick interview date!!! (Can't blame a girl for trying to convince herself, right? LOL!!! )
Anyway, Scarlett, abba48uk, maybe you can help me out here and confirm a few things, or anyone else who's had a recent London K1 interview?
This is what I have so far:
UK police certificate
My long form birth certificate
Adit pics left over from the I-129F (the embassy said passport pics will be fine, though)
Provisional file already open since 10/17/02. IV-15 checklist sent already.
Passport
Originals of all evidence originally submitted for petition
Cash for medical and visa fee
Here's what I've yet to get from Corey:
I-134 Affidavit
Tax transcripts & W2's (only about another few days for him to receive those, but still scared they won't get here in time!! LOL!!!!)
Employer's letter
Paystubs
And what I'll be getting in the next week:
Vaccination records (The right one this time!!!)
MMR jab (Ouch!!)
Corey makes well over the poverty level, but he doesn't have a bank account, nor does he want one. (Don't ask!!!!! ) Something I saw on one of the poverty level guidelines confused me though. For 48 states, I believed it to be $14,225 for a family of 2, but on this other site, it says $11,240. How could it have gone down? I don't think this site's up to date!!!!! Can anyone tell me that I'm not going nuts, and it is still, in fact, $14,225?
Anyway, I think we have everything covered for the embassy, but if anyone can think of anything else I've missed out, can you please let me know? I'd hate to get that far, and then be tripped up at the final hurdle!!
Many thanks in advance!

For a family of two it is: $11,940 with the 25% added it is $14,925.
Are you sure you are not looking at 2001 or 2000?

Do you by any chance know the answer to these for me? I've just been looking through a search on here, but it's giving a few conflicting answers. I've been helping Corey fill his affidavit out, and the part where it asks about his personal property, does that mean things like his tv and stereo? He doesn't own any flash yachts or anything. (That I know of, anyway!!! ) And I also read that if he earns well over the poverty level, he doesn't need to list the value of these. Is that right?
It also asks about life insurance, but he doesn't know if his works insurance covers that. He did say though that when he signed his contract, it asked who the beneficiary would be, so I'm assuming it does include life insurance. However, he listed all the things from his pay stub that he has deductions for, and there was nothing on there to give any clues. There was health and dental, and 401. I'm a thickie when it comes to things like this, so any insights would be great!!!

hi kate,
by the time i got to this you already got your answers so i won't go repeating
them except to say, as you're over the 125% you don't have to bother listing
the yacht and diamond collection etc.
from everything you've said you don't seem to have anything that's going to
cause you problems - except the interview wait.
i mailed them when i heard they had the petition and told them i was planning
to marry sooner and they responded with an interview date - i know you prolly
know this by now.
meanwhile - it must be teeth-grinding to have reached this stage and be
twiddling your thumbs. hang on in there. you'll be in the US before you know
it.
some things i did to fill in the time: took all my unwanted stuff to a boot
fair 3 weeks running. the stall cost £6 a time and i earmed about £250; drank
red wine; hung out at this newsgroup LOL.
godspeed

Thanks, Rete and Scarlett!! I did tell them why I'd like a quick interview date, and they said they'd try their best, but they need either the notice or the file, so whichever comes first, I guess!!
I'm glad I seem to have everything covered. One thing, though. If he doesn't need to list the value of personal property, what does he need to write next to it? I don't want him to put N/A, or even None, and make him seem like he doesn't have a pot to pee in!! Also, does he not need to tell them the value of any life insurance?
Thanks to anyone who has any tips.

P.S: Scarlett, keep on packin', girl!!!!

to state the blindingly obvious (my specialist subject along with Sybil Fawlty) copies (as well as originals) of Birth cert and police cert for the Embassy. I dont suppose for one moment you have forgotten that, but I dont want to hate myself in the morning ..........so just in case....lol. If my experience is typical, when you get the interview date, you will also get the visa bill! You can pay this at any bank and get 2 receipts, one for the Embassy and one for you. So you shd need a little less cash with you on the day........
