INS never gives up on me???
I was eligible to apply for a GC in two different ways, and for some
time I had 2 applications pending. I successfully received my card 1.5
years ago and immediately notified INS that I received my GC and would
like to cancel my other application. However, after several months they
send me a fingerptint appointment letter for the second application. I
again sent them a letter together with copies of my GC and other
pertinent documents, notifying that I already got it. By the advice of
my attorney later I sent the second letter, by certified mail, to the
same effect. After three months I received yet ANOTHER fingerptint
appointment letter. I called the INS 1-800 number - they told me to
ignore this letter. I went to the fingerptint place and spoke to an INS
officer there - he told me to keep sending letters similar to the two I
already sent in hope that one day they'll get them.
What should I do? Keep sending them letters, or forget about it? Can it
harm my application for citizenship in the future? (Please reply here
in the group, my e-mail is not working at the moment)

Well, if I was you, I would go there in person and take your GC show it to them, I think that would be the best thing to do, good luck, and congrats for your GC

I have a 10-year GC. I can't go and show it to them because the letter
comes from Nebraska, and I'm in California.
