Is it true that ISN application process is slowing down because of Sep. 11th
incident in NY?

Timelines for processing seem to have gotten faster in some places. But it really
hasn't slowed much, with the exception of receiving 1st NOAs - do to mail being
opened more carefully. Take Care. Shelley

Chika,

I, too, have been recently dismayed at the length of time it takes to get an
I-130/I-485 processed in Dallas, TX. We recently found out that Dallas is processing
applications for April 1999. This is only a slight improvement over June of this
year, when they were processing applications for February 1999. We had hoped that
things would proceed more quickly, but with this new information we think it could
take as many as 10 months more before they get to October 1999, when we filed.

It is true, though, that Dallas, at least, appears to have slowed down. In June they
were processing people who had been waiting 27 months, but the wait has increased,
and those who are currently being interviewed have waited at least 31 months. This
could be due to the amount of applications filed at given times of the year, but it
is disheartening in the very least.

Best of luck with your application.

AARRRGGHH!!! I've checked all of the NSC Processing Time websites and all of them
seem to be stuck on that I-130 date of 5/01... I'm getting so tired of this - hoped
he'd be home before Christmas, but FAT CHANCE of that happening... hoping he'll be
home for our 1st wedding anniversary in January, but that seems even seems
doubtful...

I hate the holidays...

Chika,
NSC: Nebraska Service center - one of four regional INS service centers, the others being California (CSC), Texas (TSC), and Vermont (VSC).
NOA: Notice of Action/Approval
NVC: National Visa Center

Probably the best place for you to go and find out more is Doc Steens site:

Good luck!
