Infomation Sharing
Last news report I saw said that the UK was not going to share peoples
infomation with the US
I.E. Everyones criminal records. The news item said that what the UK would
share was high profile cases.
Is this the case? Has something changed?
I don't have a criminal record.
I have been to the states around 15 times
I know what the immigration people are like.
But now, looking to book another hol, and am already being treated like a
criminal. Everytime you go in a TA you get asked over and over, have you a
criminal record, you can't travel if you have.
What is going on.
Reading on expats. People are scared even if they have a speeding ticket
which they got 20 years ago.
Is this not getting out of hand.
Anyway, soz
Just an informed answer to the original question.
Thanks

Only criminals and dishonest people are worried about being found out about
their records! We don't want dishonest people and those with criminal
records that qualify them to be inadmissible to be allowed entry into the
US.
If you are one of them and you want to be dishonest about it so that you can
gain entry into the US, SHAME ON YOU!!!
I hope you get caught and deported immediately!
If you are not one of them, then you don't have to worry about being honest.

I don't think anyone who posts here could answer that question. I tend
to doubt information about what is shared is public knowledge. Someone
may have an idea based on their personal immigration experience but it
may or may not be correct

Re: Infomation Sharing
You are asked over and over again simply because if you have a criminal record, either as a juvie or an adult, it is illegal to use the VWP. If you have such a history, then you need to apply for a formal tourist visa with the US Consulate.
UK does not have to share its information with the US for a criminal history to be discovered. You would be surprised how many people slip up when questioned at the POE. FYI, USC going to the UK can be questioned in the same manner and denied entry for a past criminal record, for having a love interest in a UKC, or for not having enough money to satisfy the examiner for their vacation.
