Default Inaccurate fee submission letter from INS

Guys,

Strange thing has happed. I made out a money order for 385 $ for my I-
485 package applicaiton and mailed it to them 6 weeks ago . I also
included a seperate money order for 130 $ for Petition I-130
application. Today I got a letter from INS saying to pay addition 70$ as
the amount recieved by them ( for I-1485) is only 325$ , where as the
money order was for 385 $. I have duplicated yellow thing of money order
with me as a proof.

Should I send them additional 70 $ person cheq or should i inform them
that , here is the copy of the money order which clearly says 385$ ,
however INS letter is saying 325 $

suggestions? Advice ?

Kevin

Kevin,

The first thing I notice is that $325 for the I-485 processing fee plus
$70 for the biometrics fee totals to $395, not $385. So you do seem to
owe some money.

Did the letter you received appear to be a form letter?

Regards, JEff

That's exactly what happened to me.
My whole application was returned saying the check has incorrect amont
for both I-485 and I-130.
They changed the price for I485 to $395, I130 to $190. USCIS forms are
not updated. It cost me two weeks of time, and another postage for
Fedex. It sucks.
