Immigration officer attitude/training studies
Does anyone on this board know of any studies available on the quality
of training given to immigration officers, as well as their attitude
towards non-citizens or non-permanent residents?
Thanks,
Pankaj

Re: Immigration officer attitude/training studies
All of them are required to pass intensive training at the premier US
Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, GA.
(http://www.fletc.gov/pao/about_fletc.htm ). This academy is considered to
be one of the best among the law enforcement community in the US.
Their attitudes towards different people are as varied as there are
varieties in attitudes with different types of aliens.
They are law enforcers and the law requires them to treat every applicant
for admission in the U.S to be intended immigrants unless proven otherwise
by the applicants.
There are various requirements that must be enforced as U. S. Immigration
Laws demands and aliens are expected to abide by these requirements.
As you can surmise from current events, illegal immigration is a reality; it
is not an imagined problem. Current events only strengthen my belief had our
immigration law enforcers been more strict these problems should not have
grown that big! They need to be stricter, not more lenient!
