Default I765 approved - EAD receiving process

Hi !
I have applied for a EAD on the 17 October 2005.
I went for my biometrics on the 10 January 2006.
I on the 12 of January I have received an e-mail form USCIS stating :
***
Application Type: I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION
Current Status:
This case has been approved. On January 12, 2006, an approval notice
was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this
notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your
address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800)
375-5283.
***

I have made arrangement for employment and supposed to start on the 23
January.

Questions :

1. Do you know how long it will take to receive the notice mailed from
USCIS ( I think it takes about 3-4 days )?
2. Is the notice the actual EAD or I have to pick it up from the local
USCIS office ?
3. If I don't receive the notice can I go to the USCIS office and get
an Interim EAD?

Could be anywhere from a few days to never.

You will get the EAD card in the mail. You won't go to pick it up from any office. I actually can't remember if there is a separate notice from the actual card. My husband got his EAD in the mail about 3 weeks after biometrics were done.

If 90 days has passed from the date on your EAD NOA, you can make an Infopass appointment to see about getting an interim EAD. However, in this case, they might not give you one since your 1-year EAD is already approved and on the way to you...I'm not sure.

Best Wishes,
Rene
