I485
I posted this in the other group but no response. Please comment..
I485/I140 filed concurrently with VSC in February of 2003. I140 approved in
November of 2003.
I checked the status online and the I485 application have been transferred
from Vermont to Newark. Is this a good or a bad thing? Why would VSC not
process my application and transfer it for an interview. Will this further
delay the process? How long will it take for Newark to schedule the
interview? The Online Status says that scheduling can take several months.

It means they think something is fishy. If everything is above board you
should have nothing to worry about.

This transfer is either because USCIS has a particular reason to check out
your case, or because you are part of a random check of employment-based
I-485s filed at the Service Centers.
I have known of a few people whose I-485 was transferred to the district
office, and none could ever find out the specific reason why the case was
transferred.
There will be extra delay, no doubt about it. You can ask your
Congressperson (local office) for help in getting your interview scheduled.
