i'm thinking about applying for the DV2008 but what if i won it do i have to go back to my country to get from the consulate or i can get it while i'm here in america?????????????

Yesyou may apply and obtain the GC in AMERICA if you are lucky enough
to win the visa lottery. Furthermore, it is ONLY wise to apply it
yourself FREE of charge online.

Probably illegal already. Thought it was said that you had to leave in order to continue the process if you win. Plus you need to prove you have the education and money available sponsor yourself to complete it.

no i'm not ...... if i'm here illegally there is no way i would think about the DV lottery cause u know to win it u have to be legal in the US.......the only thing i'm asking about is ..if i win it can the hole process be done here in the US or i have to go to my country and deal with the embassy back home??

note:regarding money and education

You can apply through the USCIS, but there is always a concern about
how long it takes with them. You have to wait until your winning number
is current. Many times, I am told, the USCIS doesn't finish processing
before the 9/30 of the year. Such as 9/30/2008. If you have a low
winning number, you can request in US processing and can probably be
issued the immigrant status and green card.

I also agree with the previous poster, don't be lured into a green card lottery web site who says they will guarantee you one if you pay them money.
