I got the job!!!!
Hello everybody! Hopefully you remember the whiny ginger in the kilt!
Sorry I haven't written in bloomin' forever, but I've been mucking about working etc. However, I thought I'd drop a quick line...
Before I even moved out to America, I lined up an interview, which led onto another interview... which finally led onto five interviews in two states. But nearly three months later, I got the phone call to say I GOT THE JOB.
I start next week!
I am so excited and relieved - I was plugging away at a shitty pharmaceuticals job that was driving me round the bend. But now I actually get the chance to work at a job in my field - plus the money's much, much better than the UK.
So PHEW.
Learned a lot in my shitty job. As you all know, I'm a bit of stodgy Telegraph reader, but even I went over pinko when my then boss came into a meeting one day to boast - BOAST - that in the years he'd run the company, no employee pay dates had ever been late. I came over in a lather, explaining that if he wanted to motivate his staff into skipping lunch breaks and working harder, perhaps he shouldn't demand that they be IMPRESSED with his ability to pay their salaries on time.
That went down like a ton of bricks, I can tell you.
But I'm free of that now! Hopefully this new job will be everything it's cracked up to be!
Thanks for everybody who sent me support and cheerful messages. I really appreciated them.
Well, ta ra for the time being.
