Is I-551 Needed

We mailed off our I-751 a couple of weeks ago and just recieved a "Notice Of
Action" stating that they had received our form and that the Alien Card had
been extended for one year. My wife is traveling to the Philippines in July
and I was wondering if she needed an I-551 stamp also or is her card and
notice that she had been extended enough to get her back in the country.

People on this newsgroup have reported having no problem returning to the country with the notice and passport. You could try getting a stamp if that makes you feel better, but if they will give it to you or not depends on your field office...
