I-485 steps: HELP (VSC)

Folks:

Please help me understand the I-485 steps.

a. I filled the I-485, in Aug;
b. I received the EAD/AP;
c. I have received finger printing for end Oct;

Question:

What are the next steps? What's the time frame.

You wait for the I-485 approval notice to arrive in the mail. I think
I-485s are taking about a year from filing to approval at INS VSC.

About 5 or 6 months before the expiration of your EAD, you file an I-765 to
obtain the next year's employment authorization. You have to be sure that
the next year's EAD arrives before the previous one expires. The same goes
for advance parole, although it takes less time from filing to approval.
