Well it only took 1 year and 5 months, but I finally got a notice for
fingerprinting and biometrics from the NYC office. My appointment is at a
local support center 5 blocks away from where I live. Looks like we can
finally get the ball rolling! Does anyone know how long after this
fingerprinting appointment will the actual interview take place?

I don't know about NY, but where I am living it is usually within four months of the fingerprinting - sometimes even sooner. NY is particularly busy, though.

Could be next week, could be next year (2005). No way of knowing as NYC use to send the appointment letter for interview first and then the appointment for fingerprints/biometrics.
