i-485 No Interview?

i-485 No Interview?
My good friend married a gal from India just a few months ago, she emailed me to tell me, she never had to have an interview... is this common?

LMAO with my luck, we will get an interview on a date where it snows 6 feet and we have to drive the 400 miles to get to the processing center... then when we get there, the IO will have called in sick because he didnt want to drive in the snow...then theyll send us home and schedule us for 3 days later!
