I-140 Premium Processing?
Does anybody know the current status of the INS plans to offer Premium Processing
for I-140?
Have they started this already, or when will they do so?
Thanks

They do offer this but a employer must do it and it costs an additional 1000$ on top of any other fees. It does take 2 weeks to process providing no problems

Premium Processing is not yet offered on I-140 petitions. I heard this may start
late 2002 or early 2003.

Re: I-140 Premium Processing?
My question is about the planned inclusion of I-140 Immigration Petitions in the
Premium Processing.
Are you referring to Premium Processing for H-1B visas or I-140 Immigration
Petitions?

INS Institutes New Security Checks/ Premium Processing for I-140s on Hold
April 26, 2002 - INS recently indicated that all pending and future petitions and applications, except N-400s, are being subjected to a new security check. The INS is unable to tell us at this time to what degree this process is expected to delay adjudications. The Service has also advised that it will not be implementing premium processing for I-140 petitions at this time. INS stated that the existing premium processing program will not be delayed by these new security checks unless there is a security "hit."

I believe they deferred it. One of the reasons seems to be that even with the
existing Premium programs, INS is having problems because post 9/11, some security
checks can't be completed in time. My guess is that they are also inundated with
extension requests from tourists and other stuff.
