Hi, all. My Canadian husband and I are filing the I-130 package with him here in the
States. I have a question about the I-131 form (Application for Travel Document).
Part 7 seems to be some sort of essay question.
"On a separate sheet of paper, please explain how you qualify for an Advance Parole
and what circumstatnces warrant issuance of Advance Parole. Include copies of any
documents you wish considered."
What sort of essay do we need to write?!?
Thanks in advance, Michèle (& Brian) in Cleveland

I would just put "multiple trips anticipated". The form is outdated from a time when
you had to tell them how/why you qualified, but that is no longer required generally.
by the way, I don't know if you have searched the old posts for this group, but some
of them indicate that IF you file IN PERSON on a Tuesday, he might get the EAD card
the same day you file: http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q...s_ugroup=alt.-
visa.us.marriage-based&num=100
It's not a sure thing, but it's sure worth a try!

Thanks, Alvena!
As for filing in person on Tuesday in Cleveland - I called the National Customer
Service Center the other day & that's what they told me, too. Since Cleveland
requires that the EAD app be filed on a Tuesday in person, then since we're
submitting that as part of our I-130/I-485 package, we need to submit everything in
person on that Tuesday. We're hoping that we get the EAD that same day - it certainly
would make life so much easier right now!
We are filing this coming Tuesday, July 10th.
