Is a I-129F Withdrawl Recommended?
Hi,
My wife and I are considering withdrawing our application for the
I-129F non-immigrant visa due to the fact that our I-130 immigrant is
being processed quickly.
Is this recommended? and what is the proper (legal) procedure to
withdrawl the I-129F application.
FYI - The country is Colombia and the embassy is in Bogota.
Thanks for any/all help on this matter.
Phil

Why do you wan to withdraw your I-129F?
They will not refund any fee no matter what.
If I were you, I would just ignore the I-129F for the time being.
If the circonstance change later, you would have a backup option ready
to use.
In any case, they will discard the I-129F 4 months after approval

Thank you for your response.
We decided to wait unitl the I-130 immigrant visa is processed and not
accept the I-129F due to the fact that if she comes to the US on a
I-129F we will have to pay $385.00 for adjustment of status and plus
she cannot work.
If we apply for a work permit, that is another $185.00 dollars per
renewal.
Our I-130 is on the last portion (DS-230) is currently being processed
by the NVC
Thanks Again,
Phil
