I 129 F taking longer processing time, as INS increase background checks
Hi all, My Fiancee called VSC to check on the I 129 F petition, as it's been 41 days
since 1st NOA. the Immigration officer told her, even before asking her the case
number, that they got mandated to do more extensive background checks like a couple
weeks ago so it's taking 30 days longer. then she asked her about the case number,
and replied to my Fiancee that everything seems normal.

Re: I 129 F taking longer processing time, as INS increase background checks
INS are now screening every applicant through IBIS and other databases to weed out
undesirables - this is the same reason they have mandated the use of middle names
even where the form only says middle initials. Of course, if INS had a proper IT
infrastructure this could be done automatically at data entry and there wouldn't be
any extra delays ... that, unfortunately, is many years away I fear!
