How long it takes to pull old files from USCIS archives. HELP PLEASE
Apparently my I129F fiancee petition processing is on hold at VSC
pending review of an old petition that I filed for the same fiancee
and that I withdrew last year.
Does anyone know how long it takes to pull old files from the archives?
Thanks in advance.
June/2003 filed original I129F for fiancee at VSC.
May/2004 withdrew I129F
12/5/2004 refiled for the same fiancee.
still on hold pending review of the old petition.

Deceptively simple question.
Depends where the file really is. If the file is in the main repository
at Lee's Summit, my experience is that they are pretty efficient and
will get to the file in 60-90 days.
The real problem arises if the file is supposed to be at one location
but isn't there. Files carry barcodes and are supposed to be swiped
when they are moved from location to location, but if someone forgets .
. . . This happens unfortunately more often than one might think. Then
a search has to be conducted, and that takes time.
