How Does Us Law Treat Polygamy?
Hi,
I am from Africa where it is legal to have many wives.
I have 3 wives and 13 children and I am soon immigrating to the US.
Will I allowed to bring my family to the US?

You will be allowed to bring the FIRST wife [in order of marriage] and all thirteen children. This answer is limited as to who is QUALIFIED for immigration as the "wife" and "children" of you.

Your question was whether or not you could immigrate your three wives and 13 children. I answered that question. Beyond that, I have no idea what happens to the other two wives other than they can't immigrate based upon your immigration.
Sure, if your home country allows it, you can adopt your second two wives. Why would you want to do that? This is an immigration forum, not an adoption forum.

I think you had better educate yourself about the US and its laws and customs as you do not seem anywhere near ready to come and live here.
FYI, this is a civilised country where men and women have equal rights.

Thanks Mr Folinskinya,
I will see what our laws say here and see if I can adopt the other two, since I cannot leave any of them.
Donna,
I dont know why you are speaking against me, you have US cultures and we have our cultures, no mixing. You respect my culture, i respect yours.

And I don't think Utah tolerates polygamy. And even if there are small enclaves in this backward states that do turn a blind eye, it would hardly be representative of the rest of the US.
However, I'm beginning to think the OP is a troll and this whole thread is a wind-up...

Only in Utah! ;-)

I fail to see how polygamy is any less civilized nor how it necessarily
says that one sex has less rights than another. I happen to believe that
adult people can and should enter into any form of relationships they so
desire, assuming, of course, that it's voluntary.
