Be aware that ski resort working and living conditions can be around the level of a Siberian labour camp.

Re: how do i get a H2B Visa?
The H-2b visa has a "double temporary" -- the employer must have a temporary need and the job must be temporary in nature. Also, the employer has to go through a test of the labor market via an abbreviated labor certification process [IOW, there has to be a shortage of such workers].
The classic H-2 were the farm workers -- but they now have their own sub-category.
Sometimes the two temporaries are met by the same facts -- e.g. the Ski Instructor works only when there are skiing conditions. Snow melts, no job.
So, H-2b is NOT for seasonal overflow. Disney World never closes, but hires extra people for the high seasons. The need is temporary but the nature of the job is not.

The guys I know that have done the seasonal thing are actually instructors, either for skiing or golf, or technical staff (lift ops, greenkeepers etc). Quite different from pick-up work.
And you can absolutely forget about bartending. That is a serious profession here, not a student job like in the UK.
