Default Holiday to new York

Where's the best forum to discuss eligibility to go on holiday to New York, I have a minor conviction for theft in 2004 will this stop me going on holiday to new York?? This is clearly a spent conviction.. but I have to supply for an esta Visa apparently

Sounds like you need a B2 Visa.

First apply for ESTA and answer all questions honestly.

Why would you even bother wasting $6 and a day of your time on an ESTA that will certainly be declined?

It's actually $14, hardly a day of time (more like 20 minutes) and there is no certainty of a denial.

It's only $14 if the ESTA is approved, $6 if it's not authorised; and while it may only take 20 minutes to complete the application, it often takes 24 - 48 hours to receive a decision.

In this instance, namely an applicant with a clear cut CIMT who must answer YES to the question about criminal eligibility, any ESTA will be denied 99.9% of the time.

Yeah I would not bother with the ESTA and go straight for the B2 if I am carrying a CIMT conviction (which he is in this case)
