If a uni won't sponsor you then nothing you can do - the employer has to sponsor you, you can't apply for anything without them. So you need to find a uni that will sponsor you, then ask which visa they plan to get for you.

I'm assuming you aren't also a Canadian citizen in which case a TN visa might be an option.

From the UK, you can't self-apply for a visa that lets you work for a US company. The employer must petition and sponsor the visa on your behalf. This is a lengthy and expensive process which is why many employers don't consider it. Details of Non-Immigrant temporary employment visas are here. The H1B lottery for roles starting in October 2024, will be between March 1-20. Again, this must be initiated and paid for by the prospective employer.

Sorry the answer is bleak, but it's not easy to come to the US to work if starting from nothing.

Don't waste your time. TN is for Canadian (& Mexican) citizens only.

What about an O-1 visa: exceptionally talented?

Can the applicant apply or does it have to be a prospective employer?

Still needs a sponsor. If the OP is really talented/renowned though, he could look at a self sponsored green card, EB1 or EB2 NIW.

I am not aware of any VISA or Master Card that offer immigration befits beyond things like refunding Pre and GE fees. You need to look at USCIS for visa’s, however as other have pointed out your options are likely limited if you can’t find an employer to sponsor you,

I assume soccer camps might hire cheap labor for summer: https://j1visa.state.gov/programs/camp-counselor
