Help with which VISA i need to work as soccer coach
I live in Canada and have my Permanent res card as well as my UK Passport
Im looking to obtain a job in the USA as a soccer coach at a University and note that a lot of them dont sponsor visas for International coaches
Anyone know which VISA i would need to pursuit this ??
Thanks

If a uni won't sponsor you then nothing you can do - the employer has to sponsor you, you can't apply for anything without them. So you need to find a uni that will sponsor you, then ask which visa they plan to get for you.

I'm assuming you aren't also a Canadian citizen in which case a TN visa might be an option.
From the UK, you can't self-apply for a visa that lets you work for a US company. The employer must petition and sponsor the visa on your behalf. This is a lengthy and expensive process which is why many employers don't consider it. Details of Non-Immigrant temporary employment visas are here. The H1B lottery for roles starting in October 2024, will be between March 1-20. Again, this must be initiated and paid for by the prospective employer.
Sorry the answer is bleak, but it's not easy to come to the US to work if starting from nothing.

What about an O-1 visa: exceptionally talented?
Can the applicant apply or does it have to be a prospective employer?
