HELP - K-1 / I-129F
Hello all,
If after obtaining a K-1 visa and entering the US on that visa, am I then eligable to
start work immediately or do I have to file further petition forms before i can
actually apply-for/start a job even before the marriage? Or, immediately after
getting married am I then eligable to apply-for/ start a job or do I have to file
further forms and 'wait' for acceptance?
Many thanks in advance for any help.

This is not 100% but yes, you get what you need when thay give you the K-1 so you can
work straight off. The only requirement then is to marry within the 90 days.

Hi David
Yes you will be eligable to work immediately after entering the US with a K-1 visa. You may get a temporary EAD stamp/card at the POE which is good for 90 days , if however you don't get the temp EAD stamp/card you should go to your local INS office and apply for a temporary 90-day EAD card which you can only do PRIOR to marriage. You also need an SS number .
You may want to check out this site ..
http://k1.exit.com
most of the information you need is there under the AOS:K1/K2 section
hope this helps
