Help ..how to get a skilled job in America
Hi my husband has had enough of his Italian bosses and is thinking of relocating to America if he can find the right job. We are new to this and know nothing about visas. He has 21 years experience in Electrician work, installations designing control panels and maintenance. Also Commercial and Domestic heating engineer in Gas and Oil. Plus biomass boilers and CHP Units. Plumbing and solar panels.Any advice would be really appreciated

Hi, welcome to BE.
Unfortunately, it doesn't sound as though your husbands job is likely to be one that results in a visa, but you can read up on all the visa options here to see if any of them might work - Pulaski's Ways: How to Live and Work in the USA : British Expat Wiki
What do you do?
Good luck with it.

Hi and welcome to BE.
Are one of you a British citizen or an American citizen? I ask because you don't mention what citizenship you or your husband hold. The only that will make your life super easier in terms of qualifying and obtaining a visa to the US would be if one of you were a US Citizen.
First, I suggest that you have a read of this link:
Pulaski's Ways: How to Live and Work in the USA : British Expat Wiki
See if your husband fits any of these categories which would allow him to pursue a visa to live and work in the US.
If not, then the only other ways I can think of off the top of my head is:
1. Returning to school to get a degree which would qualify him or you do it;
2. Work three years for a company who has a US office and then be transferred to the US;
3. Be lucky enough to hold citizenship in a country that qualifies to play the green card lottery.
The US is a difficult country to get into if you are not married to a US Citizen or do not have the college degree or work experience in a field that allows you to participate in the H visa scheme.

The job must also come with sponsorship for a visa. No visa... no relocation! It's that simple. From what you've written, your husband doesn't qualify for a visa - and that is the reality of your situation.

Unfortunately - and I mean this in the nicest possible way - there is no visa category for people who are "fed up and want to try something new".
I know nothing about your husband's field but it sounds like he has a solid work history. So surely there is another company in the U.K. or even within the EU that he could apply to? If you are EU citizens then take advantage of over 20 countries where you don't need a visa, instead of focusing on one where you do. Your chances of success are much higher that way.
You haven't said what he's fed up with regarding his current employer but what makes him think working in the USA would be better? He will have a lot less annual leave, and almost all states work on an "at will" basis with jobs. Meaning that employers can fire you for no reason and with no notice. It's only when you don't have the EU employee rights on your side that you realise how good they are. Many people in Europe would be doing their careers a disservice by moving to the USA.
