Does anyone know of any process by which you can extend your H1 beyond six years ???
A friend of mine has used up five years and would need more time before his Labor
gets approved.

Can his company petition for an extension, if they have committed to doing his
immigration paperwork.

Thanks

Lyd.

Last fall, Congress passed a bill which allows for H-1B extensions beyond 6 years if
the alien is seeking an immigrant visa and the labor cert, I-140 or I-485 have been
pending for at least 365 days. So, the alien must take the first step toward
immigrating prior to the beginning of his sixth year of H-1B status in order to be
eligible. It sounds like your friend might qualify.

Good luck.
