Default Health Exam

I have a health exam next Tuesday - I looked at all the Class A Conditions
and thankfully don't have any of that. I noticed that under Class B
Conditions there's a box for "other physical defect, disease or
disability" - is there anything else that could require a waiver? I'm not
aware of anything - but one could have some stuff like Herpes without
knowing it for example. I guess I am getting a bit paranoid now that I am
starting the whole immigration process !

Also - I had mumps and chickenpox as a child, but no proof of that - I guess
the doctor will take my word for it?

I've had chickenpox but am still a chicken :o)

If you don't have proof of vaccinations, I think there is a test the doc can do to see which ones you need....or, maybe he'll just give them all to you again.

As for your overall health, they are looking a major things like AIDS, TB, etc. If you aren't aware that you have anything major, chances are you'll be fine.

Best Wishes,
Rene

Default Re: Health Exam

I just had my medical. OK, be prepared to be vaccinated, even if you have evidence (I had my UK medical records faxed over), for anything not done in THE LAST 6 MONTHS, so basically you'll get everything. Also if you had a TB vaccination as a child, then your going to prove positive for TB! So you'll have to pay for a chest XRAY to prove you dont actually have TB, just the TITERS for it. I brought proof I had been vaccinated for TB, but the law states if you test positive then you have the XRAY, and thats what you must do. Factor the cost in to your budget etc. The medical is painless, they draw a little blood to test, and it was all done in a very professional and relaxed environment. Don't worry about anything.

titre test, or titer over here...costs as much as a vaccine or two, so only worth it if you know your all set for all the vaccines but don't have proof...
