H4 To F1 Visa
Hi All!
I had written earlier on this forum about my queries regarding changing from H4 to F1 VISA. I am now stuck with a new problem.
I have been granted admission towards a PhD program with a tuition fee waiver for fall 2004 and spring 2005 semesters. The fee waiver is equivalent to the "in state tuition fee" of the state where I am residing.
Is it that to avail of this tuition fee waiver, I shall have to continue being on H4 visa.Since H4 means that I shall not be able to secure an assistantship position, any on campus job and also the OPT period, I was planning to shift to the F1 visa category.
I am now really confused as to what I should do!
Do let me know your views, or if you feel there could be a way out.
Thanks!!

SSharma, is this a question or a statement?
If it is a question, then of course you must find out the answer from your
school. None of us can tell you the answer.
The question is: is this fee waiver available to an F-1 student?
Usually, people who receive "in-state" tuition do not get fee waivers. They
are simply not charged the fee to begin with, so there is no "waiver"
involved.
Since H4 means that I shall not be able to secure an
