h1b1 layoffs and status issue
Hello Group,
I am new to this group and I would like to ask some questions about h1b1 layoffs. I am on 4th year of h1b1 with lc filed 1.5 years ago. Backlog in oklahoma is 1 year now. My employer gave me notice that i will be laid off in feb of 04. I went to India in end of dec. They paid me till end of january of 04. I came back on 2nd week of april. Now I am not getting paid but they said that they will keep me in status without reporting to INS and rehire if some new project comes up. So Am i ok statuswise or not or what should I DO? what happens next if I don't get rehired?
