H1B - waiting time for next visa

Hi everyone!
I am a subject of following issue.
I spent in US about one year on H1-B and went back to my country of origin
1.5 year ago. The expiration date of my visa in my passport passed 2 months ago.
Thus my visa is now gone. As I know there must be at least one year waiting
between two H1-B's.
My question is how long should I wait before applying for new H1-B? Which date
(country leave or visa expiration) is taken in account in that case?
