Hi,

I hold H1B with I-94 valid till Dec, 2007 but my visa has expired (had 3
months validity).
I need to urgently travel back to Canada for 20 days.

What should I do? Should I apply for a reentry visa at the same
Embassy in Canada or here in the US?

For a trip to Canada of less than 30 days, you should simply be able
to keep your current I-94 and use it to re-enter the USA and resume
your previously authorized period of entry.

-Keep the I-94 with you and you can come back to US show the expired Visa stamp in passport and valid I-94 when you enter US. Search for
" Automatic Visa Revalidation"
For entry to Canada you need to get Canada visa from nearest Canadian Consulate in US
