H1b quota question
From what i understand the quota for the H1b gets used very quickly half way through the year.
My question is, from what time of the year do they process H1b visa. Like i remember this year they were not processing any more H1b in August because the quota had been used up for the fiscal year.
When do they start processing for the next years quota? and approximatly when does the quota get used up?

You can apply for an H-1B up to six months in advance. Since October 1 is
the earliest start date in fiscal year 2007, the earliest you can file is
April 1.
I can tell you exactly when the quota gets used up: when 65,000 H-1Bs (minus
some for Chile/Singapore) have been issued.
The date depends on how many people apply how early. In the past, the date
has been moving backwards by a few weeks every year. Last year it was
August, the year before it was October, the year before that it was
November. If this pattern holds (and I see no reason why it would not), my
guess is that the quota will be used up around June or July. A few years
from now, I expect that April 1 will be the only day you can apply, and
even then they may well use a lottery system or something like that.

No, as I said before, the earliest you can apply is April 1 (unless you
qualify for the special quota or quota exemption).
