Default H1B & LLC

Folks:

I have an H1B visa and work in the Information Technology field. I will soon finish
three separate Real Estate courses and would like to do some Real Estate Investment
on a part-time basis; but only if this is legal.

I was just wondering if H1B holders are allowed to setup their own Limited Liability
Company (LLC). Do I have to get some sort of permission from the INS?

Thanks, John.

If I remember right, the rules are that you can own the company but you can't do any
work for it. People on alt.visa.us should be more familiar with the law in this area.

Andy.
