H1B: academic employer to industry employer, impossible?
Hi Folks,
I will have an academic H1B pretty soon (since it is academic, it did
not compete for the cap of 65000), but I am interested to work in the
industry after this employment is over (will be). I am told by an
advisor that those who did not compete for the yearly cap of 65000 will
have to compete for this at least once, which will be my case when I
go to the industry. H1B is not portable from across the academia to
industry. Only within academia / industry it is portable.
Is it true?
Please let me know.
