I have a valid H-1 visa but was laid off recently, new employer applied for transfer
of status and was approved and I did started working for new employer. Now I need to
travel outside US, Can I use my valid visa (for previous employer) to enter US with
recent approval notice. ? (My petition was submitted after 35 days of lay off & was
approved by INS, as transfer of status) Do I have to apply for a new visa? (I want to
avoid that due to recent events/trajedy)

Yes. You can enter the US using the valid VISA in your passport and the new approval
notice. Make sure while you enter, that the expiry date on the I-94 match that of the
approval notice.
