H1-B transfer fedex on 4/23/06 haven't received the receipt notice when can work
Hi everyone/lawyers,
I have filed for my H1-B transfer and was fedex on Monday 4/24/06. I
haven't received the paperwork from USCIS still (has been a week). I
have heard that it only takes two days to get it.
1. If any body has filed H1-B recently, can you tell me how long it
takes to get the receipt notice?
2. Can I start working just with my fedex proof of delivery? Or I need
to wait until I get the notice of receipt?
3. I have already resigned from my current job. I have about 3 weeks to
wait. Am I going to be out of status after three weeks if I still
haven't received the notice?
Thanks for the answer

Don't know.

You need to have "filed" the application, which means that CIS need to
have received it. Having a receipt from them is clearly proof of this.
It's up you you whether or not you want to risk using anything else,
though a proof of delivery sounds reasonable.

You're out of status now if you aren't working for either the old or
the new company.
