Default H1-B cancellation

Can the employer cancel the H1-B status without notifyig the employee??

Yes. The BCIS/INS would be the one to notify you... but don't worry, its unlikely that the employer would cancell H1B application. Its not that easy; a lot of questioning and all that.

If your sponsoring employer terminates/fires you then you would become out
of status and your H1B visa would not be valid anymore. Effectively, your
employer has canceled your H1B status!
