green card question
My mother has recently passed the interview for family-sponsored permanent
residence succesfully, and got a stamp in her passport of "temporary
evidence of lawful admission...", which is valid until the end of next year.
My question is: can she travel out of US with this stamp (i.e, without the
actual green card, which they said will arrive in about 6 months). I heard
some speculations that her passport with this stamp is not enough, and she
will need to apply for some sort of "travel document".
Please advise.
Thanks

Re: green card question
This stamp is also known as the I-551 stamp, and is legally completely[*]
equivalent to a Green Card.
[*] almost. There has been one situation where CIS claimed that they
weren't actually the same. Not sure how it got resolved, but it was
something completely unrelated to your mother's situation.
