Default Green card ....DV2003 Time limit for relocation ??

Hi,
My wife being a Polish national, applied for the Green Card for 2003,
and she has been fortunate to have been selected for interview. The
case number is 21xxx so I think there is a good chance of getting it.
I think I am right in saying that once she gets through the interview
stage she has till 30th Sept 2003 in order to go to the US and get the
green card.

Once we get our green cards is there a time limit during which we have
to relocate to US. Also what are the rules governing the Green Card
... is there a set time period per year which we have to be physically
present in US in order to keep the green card valid ? ie. what if due
to present work commitments we cannot relocate to US immediately ? Can
this be deferred for a year .... can we keep our green cards valid by
entering the US once or twice a year for a short period of time ?

The immigrant visa the consulate issues after the interview is
valid for 6 months, so she has up to 6 months to come to the US.

At the moment you get the GC, you are supposed to make the US your permanent
home. It is called "Permanent Residence" for a reason.

You have to have your residence in the US at all time.
*Temporary* absences are ok.

It is and has never been enough to just show up in the US once in a while.
You may be able to get a reentry permit to finish up in your home country.
