Find out when the AOS was approved (will say so on the green card when it arrives). He is eligible to apply for naturalization 90 days before the second anniversary of being approved for residency. For example, approval was July 15, 2001, he would be eligible to apply (if still married to a USC that is) in April 15, 2003.

Start by going to the INS website and downloading the N-400 application and the guidelines to naturalization or request it to be sent to him via the INS website, or call INS and ask for it to be mailed to him.

If you have been married for 3 years (no 90 day discount for marriage)
and he has been a PR (conditional or not) for 3 years (less 90 days),
then he can file N-400 and supporting documentation.

Simon

thank you for catching my error. Don't know where my head was at. I gave the recipe for removal of conditions.

PLEASE MAKE IT ... FROM THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE APPROVAL FOR AOS.

My apologies you all.

That would third anniversary. The 90 days before applies to the
residency requirement only.
As noted in the "Guide To Naturalization", you still have to be married
for the full 3 years.
